  1. 1.No killing, no rape, no eating the food that we ration.
    2.I will enforce these laws through power and fear. I will kill anyone who is not following my laws, we will stone, beat or stab the defendant to death.3.A
    4.Yes, I do believe that this would work because the people stranded on the Island would be afraid of committing crimes or going against our government. We will make an example out of the first person to get out of order even if it's the smallest thing, to show that we have the power.

    1. simple, sweet, and to the point but I feel as though you would be overthrown at some point.

    2. I think this is a little extreme even though you would be under extreme circumstances. And I think that because they are so extreme that your people could turn on you and just kill you.

  2. NO stealing would be a big one! What I would do if I was the queen in this wonderful island that I rule! I would give everyone 3 chances. The first time i would give him a fine of 500 bucks! IF they get caught again, I would give a bigger fine of 1500. IF the continue to steal, id chop their hand off! If its a child, they have free passes, kids are to cute to hurt them and they usually don't know from right and wrong. Maybe I would chop off their parents fingers. I's tell the parents "well you should have been watching your kids more!" I'm pretty sure they wouldn't steal after that. If they did, I would get my army to behead that person! Stealing pisses me off! I do believe this is a law of power! I do this would work because no one will wanna steal if they get fined hardcore, hand chopped off or beheaded.
    Another law I would enforce is no stupid people! If you have bad grammar, don't have common sense, can't read, people who are ignorant ect . If you want to learn to be a smarter person, someone will teach you, but you can't learn, well that's your problem. I will enforce this beheading you! Their is no room for stupid ignorant people on MY island! This is a utilitarian law, because its a social usefulness. If your stupid your useless to everyone! Besides theirs gonna be babies made on my island and no one wants to have a stupid offspring. Good parental jeans means smart babies! If your willing to learn like I said you can be taught. If OFF GOES YOUR HEAD! My last law would be men can NOT wear pants that go past their butt cheeks! Men have to wear jeans that fit! Why, you ask? Because its ugly and it looks stupid! Did you know that first started in prison the men would wear their pants sagging past their bum for an invite to have sex. Gross! Dudes think its cool now days. Negative on that Rodger! I would enforce this by taking that dudes pants away, all of his jeans, sweats and underwear! so they either wont go no where, or just be embarrassed to walk around. I'm pretty sure one time of that, the dude wont sagg their pants. If they do OFF WITH HIS HEAD! This is law of power, because its a useless law pretty much it just annoys me when dudes do that. So just because I am the queen of this super awesome island I can make what ever law I want and im enforcing it by doing something cruel and unusual. I don't think this would work because, Louisiana pass this law. It was a 150 dollar fine plus court cost and 15 days in jail. But the a court overturned it because its unconstitutional. I'm pretty sure my people in my island would try and kill me and behead me cause of my outragous laws. I would behead you first though! I would treat my followers well though. So when the people come after me, my army will have my back. =]

    1. I'm not entirely sure where the money would be coming from and what use they would have on a desolate island. I'd image barter of trade goods would take its place instead. Though I agree sagging pants may be rather unsightly to some, it would be the least of my worries.

    2. It would be better if you have genetic specialist to classify the smart one and the stupid one. The smart one may have stupid recessive gene and contrast so be ware =))

    3. I agree that there should be no stealing. People work too hard for something to just get taken from them. Also kind of on board with the 3 chances rule.Nice job Nicole

    4. I like your law about sagging pant below your butt it looks so ridiculous. There should be a law in the USA with the sagging of the pants. If I were a private business owner my sign on the door would say NO SHIRT! NO SHOES! NO SAGGING PANTS! NO SERVICE

    5. I agree with Oscar, some of these seem irrelevant to trying to survive on a desolate island with just your classmates. Where would the army come from? And the money? And why are you so against stupid people? Just because you aren't smart doesn't meant you are useless. Some people aren't considered smart yet they still can achieve great things. And also, if grammar and intelligence are so important then with all due respect you should have proofread your post. On different note, your enthusiasm and gusto with which you talk with could make up for any imperfections in your plan so kudos for that.

  3. 1. I'd propose these 3 laws. They would be: no stealing, no intentionally killing (another person), and help around the island-- like acquiring food, building homes/beds etc.

    2. I hope the people would be on board with my laws so they can help me enforce them so we can live in a civil manner. If that doesn't work, I suppose I'll have to resort to ruling with fear or just go my own way-- perhaps on the other side of the island. We would need to build a jailhouse and make whips from the vines for punishment. If they refuse to help get food you don't eat. Simple as that. There are no second chances when it comes to murder. If a person kills someone deliberately, they shall be put to death. It would be rather risky to have someone unstable like that on the island.

    3. I think my rules fall under natural and utilitarian law.

    4. Well, the leader is nothing without its subordinates. My rules aren't that unreasonable I think. So it might just work. I just hope they are rational enough to consider them or maybe propose a way to improve them. If not, then I'd rather go off and live on my own.

    1. Correction:
      If they refuse to help get food THEY don't eat.

      *why don't these have an edit option?

    2. The wipes from vines is a good idea for punishment! Off with the head would be my approach, but that's just me.....

    3. Yes no stealing or killing. Its too crazy for people to be killing each other. I agree that people should also be helping around the Island, if they're going to live there they need to contribute.

    4. I like the fact that your goal is to achieve a civil living situation instead of resorting to brutal and barbaric ways of life like what happened in the movie lord of the flies

    5. Having to live on your own sounds kind of nice but I think it would get lonely and its easier to have a group to help survive. Your right if you don't have subordinates then there wouldn't be a leader

    6. I agree that losing two labors (the victim and the murder) is better than keeping a dangerous criminal in the island.

    7. I think these are very good rules that aren't unreasonable and people would respect you.

  4. The island doesn’t have any grocery stores that sell food or drink. People put a lot of effort to collect or hunting for food so no stealing definitely a necessary rule. Beside that, I want to make sure that nobody is lazy, lying down on the ground all day long then steal other food or water. This rule also works with item such as clothing, equipment.
    => Natural Law
    Killing people is immoral no matter where you are, island, desert, mountain or urban. We are not living in ancient time when killing people are a hobby; we are in modern period right now. One more reason is since there are not too many people in island while demand of labor is high (we need to build shelter, find food that edible, discover the island etc.); killing people is a waste of resources.
    => Natural Law
    Everybody has his or her own strength and weakness. Based on each one specialty, we can have a right work for them to do. A skillful one may build house while a smart one may do some planning. It’s depended on each person. If everybody is amateur, then I just told him or her to do every works and find out which suit whom. The result of specialization is people need to share what they’ve done. Hunting person may share food with building one or planting one may exchange what they harvested for meat.
    => Utilitarian Law
    To enforce those laws, I have some punishment that work well. I don’t like to be a tyranny but I don’t allow anyone go against me. I can sit down, have a talk then find out the best solution; however, if somebody are so annoying and provocation my patient, I will have to punish them. Killing people is not necessary. I just tied their hands backward, tied their legs to a big rock then put them in the ocean where the water level is right below their neck for half day or one day depend on the crime. The pro of this punishment doesn’t require a guard or a jail, so we don’t waste of labor just to watch a criminal; ocean does it beautifully.
    My law would work because I believed in my leader skill and it’s suitable for the first step of establish a new society in island. For a long period benefit, three laws are not enough or I may setup 3 different rules:
    1. I am rule.
    2. People must follow my rule.
    3. If you don’t, please follow rule number 1 and 2.

    2. Being tied to a rock for a half a day to a day is a great way to get a killer tan, a sunburn or skin cancer.

  5. My first law would be that everyone that is able enough to do so must do something to help the general well being of the group. This should occur daily if possible. The second would be no intentional killing of others. For obvious reasons this would almost always benefit the group. The third and final law, although I feel 3 is too few to really establish anything permanent, would be no acting in a manor that at least 3/4 of the group disapprove of. If you would like to continue them you must remove yourself from the group either completely or partially depending on what it is. All of these laws would be enforced after a consensus has been made on the punishment which in no case should be death or torture beyond what the crime committed was. My first law would be considered utilitarian law. The second would be natural law. The third would be historical jurisprudence. As previously stated, I do not believe this would last long term unless under near perfect conditions, but I do believe it could be possible. The reason for this is that there is too much that goes unaccounted for so there would be lots of uncertainty as to what is acceptable and/or not acceptable.

    2. This is pretty dope man! Kind of like mine we both thought of that we should work for the well being of the team.

  6. 1)The first rule I would propose would be no stealing. Stealing would just lead to mass panic followed by someone dieing for whatever reason deemed fit. The second rule would be no killing people.Killing people is morally wrong and should not and would not be tolerated. The third everyone gets a say in what goes on. This way no one can really say I didn't get my voice heard.
    2) The way I would enforce the first two rules would you would be kicked off the island forever. The third rule would be enforced if you try to shut down someone elses say or opinion you lose your right to say anything when we figure out what is going on unless called upon.
    3) the first two and d. historical jurisprudence and the third rule is utilitarian law.
    4)I believe this would work for a period of time then people would try to poke holes in the rules and start to break them more and more

    1. What would the steal though? I think it's well thought of. No killing is good.

  7. If we were ever to be stranded i would enforce this three laws; no harm towards each other in anyway, no giving up on the team, use each others talents for the good of the team.

    These laws would be enforced depending of the case. The first one would be if you harm another person you will get punished for that person. Secondly if you give up on the team you will be punished by getting more work than others in order to stay with us. Lastly if you have a talent that could benefit us, such as fishing or building a canoe etc. and don't use it you will be punished by not being able to eat any food we hunt for a whole week.
    My rules follow the following laws.
    A. Law as Power
    B. Natural Law
    C. Utilitarian Law

    Yes, I believe this will work because if we actually look out for each other and work for the team and not for just ourselves. We would reach higher achievements and survive longer together.

  8. If I had to chose 3 laws they would be 1.) You can kill anything except people. This is a natural law. 2.) Everybody must hunt for 2 hours every day. This is Law of Power. 3.) If you get into an argument with somebody, you have 1 hour to be by yourself, then you have to get over it. This is Law of Power. If you do not obey these rules, you may not eat for 3 days the first time you disobey one of the laws. The 2nd time, the number of days double to 6 days without food, the 3rd time is 12 days without food. And so on and so forth.
